Transfer from physics to engineering

AI Thread Summary
Transferring from a science program to an engineering program is possible, especially after completing a year at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Many students successfully transition to engineering programs at institutions like McMaster or U of T St. George after fulfilling specific course requirements and maintaining a strong academic record. It's crucial to check the transfer policies of the desired universities, as they may have prerequisites or GPA requirements for engineering programs. Responding to the alternate offer by the June 2 deadline is essential to secure a spot in the science program, which could serve as a pathway to the desired engineering degree.

I have a question
I got rejected from my engineering courses but was given an alternate offer to admit into sciences. So if I except the offer can i transfer to an engineering University after one year because I really want to get an computer engineering degree or an astronomy degree . The science offer came from University of Toronto Scarborough, and I plan to transfer to McMaster or U of T St Georges. Can someone help me with this because i have to respond by June 2.

You can certainly try to transfer.

I’ve been looking through the curricula of several European theoretical/mathematical physics MSc programs (ETH, Oxford, Cambridge, LMU, ENS Paris, etc), and I’m struck by how little emphasis they place on advanced fundamental courses. Nearly everything seems to be research-adjacent: string theory, quantum field theory, quantum optics, cosmology, soft matter physics, black hole radiation, etc. What I don’t see are the kinds of “second-pass fundamentals” I was hoping for, things like...
TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
