MATLAB Troubleshooting Matlab Installation Issues

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on issues faced while installing Matlab, specifically a problem where the program fails to start after displaying "initializing" for about 30 seconds. The user has not encountered any error messages during installation but is unsure if the issue stems from a software or hardware conflict. The Matlab software was obtained from a college campus hub, and while a roommate successfully installed it using the same file, the user is experiencing difficulties. The installation process involves using Daemon to mount the CD image, leading to speculation about potential issues with the mounting process or compatibility with the user's system.

I have been trying to install Matlab all year and i keep running into the same problem. When i try to install Matlab i do not get any error messages, but when i try to start it up, it says "initializing" for about 30 seconds then the program just shuts down. I do not know if i am having a software/hardware conflict or what. I really would like to be able to install it, any thoughts?

Where did you get MATLAB from?

i am on a college campus and it is readily available from the DC++ campus hub. My room mate downloaded the same file and it works fine for him. I am using Daemon to mount the CD image.

I guess you get what you pay for
