Wanted: good book on photon radiation emission

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the search for a comprehensive book that explains the generation of photon-based radiation through electromagnetic (EM) processes, particularly focusing on the creation of radio waves. The participant expresses frustration with existing literature, which often only covers foundational theories like those of Maxwell, Abraham-Lorentz, and Dirac, without delving into the underlying physics of how EM radiation is produced. There is a specific interest in understanding the energy of photons at radio frequencies and a call for recommendations on texts that provide a deeper clarification of these concepts. The inquiry is genuine, seeking insights from others who may have encountered relevant resources.

I own and have read numerous books about quantum electrodynamics and also classical EM. But sadly, I have yet to find a good book that describes how EM generates photon-based radiation. E.g. the process by which a radio wave comes into existence -- at a deeper level -- not just Maxwell, Abraham-Lorentz, Dirac, etc., but the real physics of the process.

Has anyone here come across such a book? Many thanks!

Sorry, some of you may think this is a rhetorical question. It is not. I'm actually polling to find out if anyone actually has found such a text.

Have you considered the energy of photons at radio frequencies?

Hi las3rjock, yes, absolutely. That's why I'm looking for a deeper clarification in a published text. It's not well addressed.

For the following four books, has anyone used them in a course or for self study? Compiler Construction Principles and Practice 1st Edition by Kenneth C Louden Programming Languages Principles and Practices 3rd Edition by Kenneth C Louden, and Kenneth A Lambert Programming Languages 2nd Edition by Allen B Tucker, Robert E Noonan Concepts of Programming Languages 9th Edition by Robert W Sebesta If yes to either, can you share your opinions about your personal experience using them. Hi, I have notice that Ashcroft, Mermin and Wei worked at a revised edition of the original solid state physics book (here). The book, however, seems to be never available. I have also read that the reason is related to some disputes related to copyright. Do you have any further information about it? Did you have the opportunity to get your hands on this revised edition? I am really curious about it, also considering that I am planning to buy the book in the near future... Thanks!
I’ve heard that in some countries (for example, Argentina), the curriculum is structured differently from the typical American program. In the U.S., students usually take a general physics course first, then move on to a textbook like Griffiths, and only encounter Jackson at the graduate level. In contrast, in those countries students go through a general physics course (such as Resnick-Halliday) and then proceed directly to Jackson. If the slower, more gradual approach is considered...
