Weird Current Flow in DC Circuit

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out! I jumped the gun in making this post.

I'm doing another problem from Schaum's Outline: Basic Circuit Analysis. The problem, #3.24, and its solution are found in this http://books.google.com/books?id=EP...resnum=2&ved=0CCEQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false".

I understand the algebra leading to the solution, but I can't wrap my head around why current changes direction after adding a dependent voltage source with the same polarity as the independent voltage source.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?
