AI Thread Summary
Colleges evaluate transfer students based on several factors, including GPA, coursework relevance, and sometimes personal statements or letters of recommendation. While a 4.0 GPA significantly enhances admission chances, it does not guarantee acceptance, as many institutions have specific agreements with community colleges that can provide guaranteed admission for students meeting certain criteria. The quality of college programs is often assessed based on faculty qualifications, available resources, and campus facilities. For students interested in transferring to institutions with strong engineering programs, particularly in aerospace and physics, many colleges accept transfers from community colleges, although the competitiveness of admission can vary widely.

Hi, i have a few questions regarding to transfer student and college program

1. What do the college look at when they review transfer student?

2. Is there a way to guarantee admission to any college, like having a 4.0 GPA?

3. What is the basis for the rating of college program, good professors, good equipments or just good campus?

Lastly, can anyone give me a list of college that will accept transfer student from a CC with a decent engineering program.( Prefer aerospace and physics )

Thank you very much.

For (2) many community colleges have agreements with a/several 4-year school(s) (often nearby) that students from the community college that meet certain conditions are guaranteed admission, other students may receive preferred consideration (ie extra points in the admission formula).
For lastly any college that accepts transfer students at all will accept them from community colleges, as to odds who can say.

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
