Hey Everyone,

My research project this summer involves the study of Quantum Dots. I want to find some published papers covering aspects of quantum dots, fundamentals of the dots, etc. Does anyone have any suggested journal articles that you think would be a good start? Thanks a lot for the help!

There is a Reviews in Modern Physics article which isn't too bad. Google up Quantum Dots and you'll find a mess of things.

I always found the dissertations by the yamamoto group useful

Hi G...
Refer to the book Quantum dot heterostructures by Bimberg, Grundann and Ledenstov...

If we release an electron around a positively charged sphere, the initial state of electron is a linear combination of Hydrogen-like states. According to quantum mechanics, evolution of time would not change this initial state because the potential is time independent. However, classically we expect the electron to collide with the sphere. So, it seems that the quantum and classics predict different behaviours!
