Its a fact that it will. I think its somewhere around 90 dBA that your hearing starts to take damage (very slowly).
-an electric hair dryer may produce 80 dBA.

Ja, my ears are still ringing from my dancing in front of the speaker last week Thursday! Guess it was my fault there though! Anyway Saint, do you only want Classic rock tunes??

You should add Gloria Gaynor-I Will Survive

There's ten good disco songs? Who knew.

I always thought Bill Veek's disco night between games of a double-header was the best promotion a baseball team ever held. So what if the fumes from thousands of burning vinyl records is so toxic they had to cancel the second game. That was no reason for Sports Illustrated to list on their 10 Worst Hypes in Sports History, was it? :frown:

Actually, Paulina Rubio is pretty good, but is she disco or latin? Ahh, actually, who cares? She sounds good even with the mute button pressed.

I don't really like Disco, but these two songs are classics:

1)I Feel Love - Donna Summer

2)Popcorn - Hot Butter (one of the earliest synth-pop songs)

Well, there's your problem, those don't go on your hands.

Sparkly stuff?

Oddly enough it's gone now, but it was some sort of html animation.

Arent these supposed to be rock songs? Not 'synth pop'. All you need is abit of cheesey Hawks and your well away.

We also have Table Dance in Disco, some girls who are scantily clad dance with indecent gestures like fondering their Genital places.

  • #24
Have you been to any of these immoral places?

A housemate of mine related how some girls during the disco craze would wear "fvck-me pumps" (refer to the Eagles' song "Those Shoes") to signal their desire for a one-night stand. The higher the heels, the more desperate the dancer. How vapid.

  • #27
You never cease to crack me up !

I find funny that he puts the word Genital in capital letters

  • #28
The object may be considered Divine. :-p

  • #29
I never imagined Saint as a HOT disco loving; Genital fonderer watching; young, scantily-clad-pop-diva ogling creature.

  • #30
Heaven forbid he should give anyone such an idea!

  • #31
We shouldn't hijack this thread (we're already doing that with DMP's boyfiend).

Back to the Disco songs...I mean Rock 'n' Roll...oh, whatever !

  • #32
how is the disco in US?
discos in Spain are Ok, the ones in the island of ibiza are very famous. but here in Barcelona i saw once that was prohibited the entrance to a disco to a group of chineses only because the fact that they were chineses. Now, speaking seriously, I felt very ashamed of that, because those acts of racism always infuriate me very much

  • #33
You guys are listing songs that are not even disco. Led Zeppelin? That's as far from disco as you can get.

  • #34
Well, whaddaya do when the thread title is something of an oxymoron ?

  • #35
I never saw table dance, i know it from newspaper.
Our police frequently crack down on Discos that violate rules like allowing <18 year-old entrance, selling alcohol/drugs to them,
don't get me wrong, I am not fond of Disco!

  • #36
Okay, I feel ya, bro !

  • #37
however, I like disco's funky HOT music, but not too loud to hurt my ears.

  • #38
Funky HOT disco music sounds fantastic!
Although I enjoy rock songs for disco, my favorite of all would have to be the country tunes for disco. :-p

Gokul43201,

Like a Declaration of Impdependence, that signature may just go down in history - musty, dusty and rusty.

I should have taken your permission first  - hope you don't mind !

Some rock numbers are danceable(d), some are jump-aboutable(j), some are sway-with-a-lighted-lighter-able(l) and others are head-bangable - mild(mh) or heavy(hh) & with or without air-guitaring/air-drumming(a). Here's a few that belong in these categories.

Walk of Life (d) - Dire Straits
Summer of '69 (d) - Bryan Adams
Highway Star (hh,j) - Deep Purple
Paranoid (hh) - Black Sabbath
Rock and Roll (d,j,mh) - Led Zeppelin
Twistin' by the Pool (d) - Dire Straits
Wish You Were Here (l) - Pink Floyd
Locomotive Breath (mha) - Jethro Tull
Barracuda (j) - Heart
Black Knight (j,mh) - Deep Purple
Black Dog (mha) - Led Zeppelin
Brothers in Arms (l) - Dire Straits

There are probably several songs with those words, but I'm guessing you heard a techno-remix of ABBA's 'The Name of the Game'.

"because I love you, love you, would you let me down",
from which song ?
