AI Thread Summary
Without an atmosphere, the sea's appearance would likely change significantly, potentially appearing black due to limited light reflection. Near the shore, the water would be clearer, revealing the ground beneath. Some argue that the sea would still predominantly appear blue-green, as these wavelengths penetrate water best. The color perception remains largely unaffected by the absence of an atmosphere, as depth plays a crucial role in light absorption. Overall, the sea's color would primarily depend on light propagation through water rather than atmospheric conditions.

The sea would evaporate

But if you mean the sky was clear instead of blue, then I would imagine the sea to appear black since light can only reflect from so far down. It would be clear towards the shore (you would see the ground under teh water).

Just my opinion.

I think that it would still be primarily blue-green, since those are the wavelengths that propogate best through water. If you take a pure white (halogen, for instance) light source to a depth where sunlight doesn't exist, things are going to have that teal tinge. The situation shouldn't change just because of a lack of atmosphere, since at depth it's irrelevant. As whozum said, however, that's just my opinion.

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
