AI Thread Summary
The countdown clock that appears when clicking the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button on Google's homepage is interpreted as a countdown to New Year's, sparking speculation about its significance. Some suggest it symbolizes Google gaining self-awareness and possessing knowledge of the world's end, leading to theories about the company's decision to keep this information secret. The discussion highlights the intrigue surrounding conspiracy theories, though it is presented humorously, indicating skepticism about such beliefs.

If my arithmetic is correct (aka I punched it into a calculator), it is counting down the seconds until the New Years.

It's the end of the world.

Google has collected so much information that it gained self-awareness and has determined exactly when the world will end.

You know, it would be such an interesting world if I actually believed in conspiracy theories.

Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
