AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around course selection for someone pursuing a degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering (EE). The individual has completed several foundational courses and is considering the next step among three options: Complex Variables 1, Ordinary Differential Equations (Diff Eq), and Physics 2 (E&M). The consensus is that Physics 2 should be prioritized as it typically follows directly after Physics 1 and is essential for both Physics and EE pathways. Additionally, if the individual opts to take two courses simultaneously, the recommendation is to pair Physics 2 with Differential Equations, as both are relevant and beneficial for future studies in these fields.

I am working toward an eventual Physics or EE degree.

I currently have completed the following courses online in this order;

Calc 1, Calc 2, Linear Algebra, Phys 1 (calc based classical mech), working on vector Calc 3.

The following are available for me:

- Complex Variables 1
- Ordinary Diff Eq
- Phys 2 (E&M)

Of the three, which one should I pick next?

Thanks

if you might go into EE or Physics, by all means take PHY 2 next. You don't need the higher maths till later. Typically, PHY 2 is taken immediately after PHY 1.

Ordinarily, with a full course load, taking two makes more sense than taking one. If taking only one, Physics 2 makes the most sense.
