Why does my default printer keep changing to a printer I no longer own?

AI Thread Summary
The issue of an HP 5600 series printer reverting to a non-existent HP 5700 series printer as the default printing option is commonly encountered. Users are advised to ensure that the old printer is completely removed from the system, as having it still installed can cause the default setting to revert. Setting the desired printer as default in the control panel may not be sufficient if the old printer remains on the system. Deleting the obsolete printer can help make the change permanent.

How come no matter how many times I go into control panel and set my HP 5600 series printer as the default, everytime I go to print something, it reverts back to my 5700 series printer which I no longer own? How do I make this change permanent?

Not sure why it would revert back to the old one when you've explicitly set the new one as the default, but have you deleted the old one from your system?

I'll try that. It can revert back to something that doesn't exist. Thanks.

(I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
