I do feel for you. White tail deer in broad daylight in my yard seems to be an everyday thing.
 
I think most of those tracks are from the neighborhood kids before the big snow came.

In this context 'season' is synonymoose with 'able to be killed legally'. Other common examples include duck season or rabbit season.

Are you saying that you wouldn't want to kill things all the time? How un-American!
 
Well, when it comes to children, there's not really a season. You can get a year round subsistence permit if you meet income requirements.
