Hi Laura,
I don't exactly understand what you mean...
Every TR card (which has to follow a TRANS key word) is to be defined with a linear displacement vector:
TRn o1 o2 o3 xx’ yx’ zx’ xy’ yy’ zy’ xz’ yz’ zz’ m
with o1, o2, and o3 displacement vector.
Is this that you mean with "linear and...
Hi everyone,
I am using SSW card.
Although the manual is very clear about the fact that the cells used in SSW card have to belong to the lowest level, the manual is not that clear the surfaces.
Is SSW able to track particles crossing surfaces defining higher level universes?
Let's assume this...
Ok,
I solved it and found out that if a transformation is applied the reference for the following transformation will be the new origin, given by the first transformation.
About the order I solved it and it's actually the opposite of what I was expecting.
For the example given above, indeed a...
Hi everyone.
I am struggling understanding how to combine more than one transformations, especially rotations. This stems mainly form the fact that it's unclear to me what reference frame is used to define the transformations angle if two consecutive transformations are applied. If I have a...
Hi,
Solved!
I had indeed to set the DATAPATH environment.
Moreover, I also discovered that cross section plotter (at least in my version) has a conflict with SSR card in case you read a source collected via SSW. In the minimal working example I sent above I replaced the SSR originally present...
Hi!
Thanks both.
Unfortunately, I'm also working on the cluster of my institute so I didn't actually install anything and cannot really modify anything there.
Here a minimal working example (I manage to plot the geometry so I hope it'll be enough to check if it's possible plotting the cross...
Hi, thanks.
But unfortunately
mcnp ixz inp=input
does not work, despite the code running smoothly when launched for simulation. I am using the default library for cross section (so, not specifying any library and just defined my material without adding any .XXX notation). In fact, in the output...
Ow! Thanks!
Indeed I wanted to check the cross section.
I know that in theory the MCNP plotter would allow you to plot both cross section and reaction rates but I have never managed to have it working.
I can run the MCPLOT (i.e. the command "MCNP6 Z" works) but if I try to launch
mcnp6 ixz...
Ah! Solved...I think.
5.9.7.8 Example 6 (Lifetime Calculation/Reaction Rates) of the manual uses positive reaction numbers, which should be the ones corresponding to the reaction number of the ENDF/B
Hi everyone,
I am trying to evaluate the spectral index of an nonelastic (n,n') reaction. For that I want to set up a tally multiplier on a cell (let's call it cell 10). The reaction is present in the ENDF/B library as MT=4 but I have not seen it in the table of the special reaction numbers...
Hi everyone,
I'd like to track and write a source file (via SSW card) with the particles entering a specific cell which has been defined employing the TRCL card. So the "original" cell is a cylinder defined at the origin but the cell I'm interested in is translated along the z-axis. I've...
Solved issue: apparently there is a conflict between the simultaneous use of the HSRC card and SSW.
Once I removed the HSRC card, the SSW card worked perfectly fine and producing readable .w output file.
Thanks for the inouts.
Yeah...I thought (or simply hoped) that the runs with SSW/SSR would be easier and more straightforward but I'm really struggling understanding what is happening.
If I use first KCODE in the setup I'd like to use to write the source file it seems to work but it's not...
Hi everyone,
I am trying to use SSW to write a surface source starting from a criticality calculation (i.e. a KCODE run). I am trying to write all the particles entering a cylindrical cell.
The code seems running smoothly and at last I end up having a file "output_ssw.w" which I expect to be...
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up a surface neutron source on the surface of a cylinder defined as a macrobody (RCC) and used also to define cell of the system. My aim is setting up a surface source where I'd like to give a specific spectrum (and DIR) at each surface defining the cylinder...
