Hi Guys,
I have a sheave with 7 rollers spread evenly on 180° radius. There is an equal amount of force on each end of the sheave pulling down.
My question is will the force acting on rollers be the same for all rollers or will it differ depending on the angle?
I have attached the picture...
Hi Guys,
Could you advice on the minimum starting torque of the motor?
Moment of Inertia of the 1200mm dia cylinder is 52.5 Kg m^2
The cylinder is run by wheel that has 38mm diameter and runs at 230RMP
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I am building an equipment to Zone 2 explosive atmosphere.
Machine will be powered by the pneumatic motor. I just had an argument with my boss. He says that I need to order an atex approved motor and I say that I don't because the motor will never produce any spark.
What are your...
Hi Guys,
My friend is asking me to do the calculation for NPT thread. He is asking if 1 1/4 NPT thread is able to hold 10 000Psi pressure acting on it.
In my opinion there is no need to do the calculation for the thread. Of course it will hold it.
Don't quote me on this but I think that...
Thanks,
Have you got any idea how to incorporate a sprocket ratio into my torque calc?
Diameter of the wheel that moves the drum has 38mm and drum has a diameter of 1200mm
I incorporated the ratio into my moment of inertia of the drum.
So the formula would be the following...
Hi,
No it's a wire injected in the steel coil tube and I am trying to take it out. I am currently building a special machine for it and need to select the right type of motor. I was thinking of powering the drum with light duty bonfiglioli gear box housed from one side of the drum or having a...
Hi Guys,
I am trying to calculate a starting torque required to move the drum at 6rpm that weights 2000kg and has 1200mm in diameter.
There would be no problem to do this calc in normal circumstances as I can find a moment of inertia formula for a pipe in my book.
But in this case there...
I know that the beam will deflect but it will flex back up to the certain point. I am trying to determine the force at which the beam will bend and deform.
I have managed to calculate the section modulus Z that is 9.48
Hi Guys,
Do you know of any short formula to calculate bending moment of the beam on the attached image?
I need to know the force at which this beam will start bending.
