    Thermoelectric Generator Experiment

It did work, got a small engine to spin, in both directions with opposite polarity. Thanks for everyone's input.

    Thermoelectric Generator Experiment

Hi, I am trying to turn a thermoelectric peltier cooler I recently bought into a weak thermoelectric generator. (I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UQQ3Q2/?tag=pfamazon01-20 ) . I built a basic series circuit with 2 3V batteries and a 1 Ω resistor and this so I could...

Finding the incidence angle for refraction

I noticed you left reversible in quotations. Why must we address a reversible ray when the ray is not physically going from a high medium to a lower medium of index? I can see what you're saying as the incidence angle is increased, I even did some online simulators, but I cannot grasp as to...

Finding the incidence angle for refraction

Homework Statement I am to find the angle of incidence of a light ray before it undergoes refraction. Light is refracted in the second medium at an angle of 76 degrees measured from the normal. The second index of refraction is 1.386. The index of refraction for the initial or first medium...

Why are small particles always spherical ?

I think they are drawn spherically just so we have something to picture. Remember that protons are actually made up of quarks so they probably aren't spherical, it's a simplification.

Why don't objects turn off when an AC circuit reaches 0V?

I thought I just had bad eye sight. Thanks a lot!

Why don't objects turn off when an AC circuit reaches 0V?

My professor crammed an alternating current (AC) into one lesson. I have an OK understanding of AC but my question is as follows. Let's assume that our voltage goes from 60V to -60V, at some point the potential difference is 0 and I would think the current itself would also be 0. Does that mean...

Surface Charge Concept: Why Charges Move to Outer Surface

That makes slightly more sense now. I didn't consider the fields acorss the inner surface rather just the immediate surface around the charges. Not the clearest thing in the world but it makes a little bit more sense.

Surface Charge Concept: Why Charges Move to Outer Surface

First post, I know that charges of the same sign repel one another and that will attempt to move as far away from one another as possible. Now, I'm reading my physics textbook and it says charges will always move to the outer surface of a conductor even if the inner surface has a larger area...
