It's not really for multiply, of course; it's not a minus but rather a hyphen, used to replace a space, binding space-separated words such as "ft lb" or similar together as a single hyphenated term within text.Baluncore said:No certainty in this exact case, but most advertisements and original products do seem to use a "-" for multiply, which is probably OK in the English language, but not in maths.
