Connecting to a Linux computer from Windows XP using the "Map Network Drive" feature may not work as it did in Windows 2000 due to differences in networking protocols and support. To resolve this issue, it is recommended to install Windows Services for UNIX on the Windows XP machine, which can enhance compatibility and enable proper network mapping. The necessary software can be downloaded from the Microsoft website.
