The formula used for linearization is y=(m)(Square root of x) + b correct?
How do I find the square root of x if given various plotted data?

The formula used for linearization of what? What function are you linearizing and at what values? y= m\sqrt{x} is NOT a linear equation if that is what you are asking.

What "plotted data" are you given?
