AI Thread Summary
To create a DIY photobooth for a party, a setup is needed that allows guests to trigger a camera and flash with a wired button. The captured images should be sent to a computer for display on a TV in a slideshow format, showcasing all photos taken throughout the event. Essential components include a digital camera or USB camera, a wired trigger button, and software to manage the image display. For a streamlined experience, consider using solutions like Simple Booth for guidance. Alternatively, a basic setup with a backdrop and camera stand can suffice, with someone manually taking photos.

Hi all, I'm helpnig my wife put together a party for our son. She wanted to do a photobooth idea and tasked me with doing it. I need help with the set up though:

I'd like to have people go into the photobooth and trigger the camera (either digital camera or USB) and flash using a wired button. The image would then be sent to a computer where it will be displayed, slideshow style, on my TV. All of the images throughout the party would be accumulated and shown randomly on the TV - which I think would be cool

What hardware/software would I need for this type of set up? I basically need my idea translated into "tech-speak" so that I can google it.

Thread 'Urgent: Physically repair - or bypass - power button on Asus laptop'
Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
