I mean making a hole in the firewall?

You need to access your firewall settings and unblock the port numbers you want to...accessing the settings differs from firewall to firewall...hmm I hope i answered your question
 
Yeah, if you give some basic info on your firewall (hardware/software etc.) someone can point you in the right direction.
