Anyone here worked on or know of near field antenna measurements?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on seeking assistance with near field antenna measurements, particularly regarding the sampling procedure for creating a plane wave spectrum in one-dimensional planar measurements. The original poster is using Mathcad and is unsure about the number of samples needed for accurate probe field calculations. A participant mentions their experience with near field radio links but requests more details about the setup and specific issues faced. The conversation highlights the need for clarity on sampling techniques in near field measurements. Further insights are expected if more information is provided.

Hi,

Im looking for some one who has worked on or knows the concept of near field antenna measurements.

If there is anyone here I would really appreciate that you reply and answer some of my questions.

I am having trouble with the sampling part for creating my plane wave spectrum.. I am doing my measurements over a 1 dimension planar near field measurement and will be using mathcad.

If anyone knows the topic please reply and ill post more details about my topic.

Thank you

no one?? :(

i just wanted to clarify the sampling procedure..

that is if i am going to calculate over only 1 dimension in planar near field measurement.. then how many samples should i take on the probe field?

I don't think I'm the person you're looking for, however I did work with a near field radio link in the 200 - 400 kHz range. Can you describe your setup and the problem you're having in more detail?

While I was rolling out a shielded cable, a though came to my mind - what happens to the current flow in the cable if there came a short between the wire and the shield in both ends of the cable? For simplicity, lets assume a 1-wire copper wire wrapped in an aluminum shield. The wire and the shield has the same cross section area. There are insulating material between them, and in both ends there is a short between them. My first thought, the total resistance of the cable would be reduced...
Hi all I have some confusion about piezoelectrical sensors combination. If i have three acoustic piezoelectrical sensors (with same receive sensitivity in dB ref V/1uPa) placed at specific distance, these sensors receive acoustic signal from a sound source placed at far field distance (Plane Wave) and from broadside. I receive output of these sensors through individual preamplifiers, add them through hardware like summer circuit adder or in software after digitization and in this way got an...
I am not an electrical engineering student, but a lowly apprentice electrician. I learn both on the job and also take classes for my apprenticeship. I recently wired my first transformer and I understand that the neutral and ground are bonded together in the transformer or in the service. What I don't understand is, if the neutral is a current carrying conductor, which is then bonded to the ground conductor, why does current only flow back to its source and not on the ground path...
