Oh boy, where do I even start? April Fools' Day is always a fun time for me and my friends. We love coming up with elaborate pranks to pull on each other. This year, I think we outdid ourselves.

One of my favorite pranks was when my friend, let's call her Sarah, decided to turn the tables on our group. She knows that we all have a weakness for chocolate, so she bought a bunch of chocolate bars and replaced the actual chocolate with vegetables. Can you imagine our faces when we bit into what we thought was a delicious chocolate bar, only to find out it was a carrot or a piece of broccoli? It was hilarious and definitely caught us off guard.

But the best prank of the day was definitely pulled off by my roommate. She knows that I am a huge fan of the TV show Friends, so she decided to play a prank on me using that. She pretended to be a casting agent for a new Friends spin-off and told me that I had been chosen to audition for the role of Ross's long lost twin brother. I was so excited and even started practicing my lines. It wasn't until she burst out laughing that I realized it was all a joke. I have to admit, she got me good with that one.

Overall, it was a day filled with laughter and good-natured pranks. I can't wait to see what we come up with next year. Happy April Fools' Day everyone!

Thread 'My experience as a hostage'
I believe it was the summer of 2001 that I made a trip to Peru for my work. I was a private contractor doing automation engineering and programming for various companies, including Frito Lay. Frito had purchased a snack food plant near Lima, Peru, and sent me down to oversee the upgrades to the systems and the startup. Peru was still suffering the ills of a recent civil war and I knew it was dicey, but the money was too good to pass up. It was a long trip to Lima; about 14 hours of airtime...
