AI Thread Summary
Valve is offering their popular game Portal for free, primarily targeting educators. This promotion is available until September 20th, encouraging users to download the game even if they are unsure about its educational value. The game can be saved for future curriculum planning or deleted if it doesn't meet expectations. While some view it as a potential learning tool, others question its educational effectiveness, seeing it more as a distraction than a serious educational resource. Overall, the offer presents an opportunity to explore a well-regarded game without cost, but its true value in an educational context remains debated.

The video game company Valve is providing their extremely successful game, Portal, for free. Their purpose in this is primarily for educators; I encourage you to check this out and see if it will indeed be a valuable tool. This deal ends September 20th so I would download it as soon as possible even if you're unsure. You can save it for later to plan on where to incorporate it in the curriculum or you can just delete it if you don't like it.

You know, I initially suspected this to be spam, but surprisingly, its not.

Yeah now that I think about it, I could have probably done this post better. It does look suspicious.

Bring a light sabre to class.

Learning tool, or shameless Valve™ advertisement? You decide!

/Not that it matters. It's a great, free, game.

Learning tool? More like a really awesome time wasting device.
