AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the need for software that can create DVDs with slideshows, transitions, and music that are compatible with standard DVD players. A user mentions that their friend is currently using Nero 4, which only allows playback on a computer. There is a suggestion that upgrading to Nero Pro might help, but the conversation shifts to the compatibility issues related to the DVD player itself. Another participant argues that the software's capabilities are crucial, noting that tools like Nerovision Express can reflag DVDs to enhance compatibility with older players. The focus remains on finding effective software solutions, potentially even free options, to achieve the desired DVD functionality.

I have a friend who has Nero 4 and can apparently burn DVDs with slideshows but they only play on her computer.

She wants to be able to burn DVDs with slide transitions and music that can play on a regular DVD player (as opposed to a computer DVD drive).

She thinks that something like Nero Pro can do it. She wants to know if there's somewhere she could get some s/w for free that could do what she wants.

If she is using something like Nerovision Express there is a utility that will reflag the DVD disk to make it compatible for older DVD players.
