Using a wind turbine as a supplemental energy source for cars is impractical due to several key factors. First, wind turbines require energy to operate, which would need to come from the car's engine, negating any potential benefits. Additionally, energy conversion processes, such as transforming wind energy into electrical energy, result in energy loss, primarily as heat. When stationary, deploying a turbine would still require energy, and the wind at typical driving altitudes is minimal. Furthermore, the size and efficiency of a turbine capable of generating usable energy would be prohibitively large and expensive. Ultimately, since the car's engine generates the wind while driving, the concept of wind-powered cars remains ineffective.
