Is it possible to undo a closed thread on Physics Forums?

  • Start date
In summary, "undo the closing" refers to reopening a previously closed thread on the Physics Forums website. There may be various reasons for wanting to undo the closing, such as having additional information to contribute or feeling that the closure was unjustified. To request the reopening of a closed thread, a user can send a private message to a moderator or use the "Report" button. However, there are guidelines and restrictions for making this request, including providing a valid reason and being respectful in communication with moderators. After a request is made, a moderator or administrator will review and make a decision. If approved, the thread will be reopened, but if denied, it will remain closed and the user will be notified.

I had just typed in a clarification, but when I attempted to post it, I saw that the thread had been closed. The question may sound flawed, but it isn't if you think about it carefully.

I suggest sending the clarification to a PF Mentor, and kindly request them to reconsider if the thread deserves a lock.
