Can We Control the Higgs Boson and Its Mechanism for Mass?

Hello. Since the Higgs Boson is responsible for giving sub-atomic particles mass..or any particles there
mass..is there a present understanding of the mechanism by which the field actually does this?

And if there is...is there any artificial way of controlling it? My thinking is that if you could control
the Higgs field you could control whether anything actually has mass in the first place..or how
much mass that something will actually have.

Would it require huge energies or something? Even if it did...what about small scale control?

Yes. No. Yes. Still requires huge energies, far beyond present (or foreseeable) technology.

If we release an electron around a positively charged sphere, the initial state of electron is a linear combination of Hydrogen-like states. According to quantum mechanics, evolution of time would not change this initial state because the potential is time independent. However, classically we expect the electron to collide with the sphere. So, it seems that the quantum and classics predict different behaviours!
