AI Thread Summary
The issue of being unable to open certain Outlook items while offline is linked to the configuration settings of the application. Users may encounter an error message indicating that specific items cannot be accessed without an internet connection. To resolve this, it's essential to check the Outlook version and ensure that the "Download Full Items" option is enabled under the Send/Receive tab in the Download Preferences. This setting allows users to access content offline. Proper configuration is crucial for seamless offline access to Outlook items.

Hi All. During my work not long ago I faced a problem I never met before. I was trying to open one of my mails and seen following error message “Cannot open particular Outlook items when offline” And I don`t know what to do. Any help would be useful. Thanks.

It means that your Outlook is configured to only access the content when you are online even though you can see the topics. In order to tell you where to fix it, what version of Outlook are you using?

This is what you need to have set if you're using Outlook 2013.
Send/Receive tab -> Download Preferences -> Download Full Items should be checked.

Thread 'Is this public key encryption?'
I've tried to intuit public key encryption but never quite managed. But this seems to wrap it up in a bow. This seems to be a very elegant way of transmitting a message publicly that only the sender and receiver can decipher. Is this how PKE works? No, it cant be. In the above case, the requester knows the target's "secret" key - because they have his ID, and therefore knows his birthdate.
