The discussion centers on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the context of COVID-19, particularly focusing on full face respirators and gowns. The user expresses interest in acquiring a 3M full face respirator after observing similar equipment used by public figures and local medical professionals. There is a query about the appropriate type of gown or coveralls to complement the respirator, with a specific interest in reusable options over disposable ones. The conversation highlights that while many local gowns are available, their origins vary, and there is uncertainty about whether all PPE gowns qualify as hazmat. The material Tyvek, known for its durability and use in construction, is mentioned as a suitable option for gowns. After seeing Putin wearing a full face respirator and gown while entering hospital with Covid and seeing a local doctor wearing one too. I ordered the 3M full face respirator like it. But I'm not sure what kind of gown or coveralls to gets.

There are many local advertisements about the gown but most either locally made or made in china. So what kind of gown to look for? Are all PPE gowns hazmat? Is the Covid-19 a hazmat (hazardous material)? Reusable is better than disposable.

Next month I plan to visit a hospital clinic for consultation with a doctor so want to wear one when entering the hospital too.

The gown material is generally Tyvek, a synthetic made by Dupont. It is also used in building construction as a vapor barrier and in packaging. It's a rather sturdy material and hard to tear.

And here is a story in the Los Angeles Times newspaper that shows how much work the hospitals have to do to get the safety equipment.

This thread is my attempt to understanding the evidence that Natural Selection in the human genome was recent and regional. On Page 103 of A Troublesome Inheritance, Wade writes the following: "The regional nature of selection was first made evident in a genomewide scan undertaken by Jonathan Pritchard, a population geneticist at the...
