In summary, the conversation discusses the search for good "town" community websites, specifically non-government ones. The participants suggest a few examples such as visitcorvallis.com, ci.albany.or.us, eugene-or.gov/portal/server.pt, and ci.roseburg.or.us. The conversation also mentions the poor design and functionality of the website for their own town and the frustrating experience of trying to find information on it.

The website for our town is terrible. It looks like something someone threw together in 10 min with no web design experience at all. Most of the "links" don't even work. I guess they have the same pool of applicants as the university does for that job, because our university web sites are pretty awful and outdated most of the time too. I have a ridiculous number of bookmarks saved because once I actually locate a page with the information I need, I'm not sure I'll ever remember how I got there a second time.
