AI Thread Summary
Error 7147 in COMSOL indicates an "out of memory" issue during simulation, particularly when using the heat transfer module with varying subdomain sizes. The user is experiencing this error while attempting to solve a model that includes subdomains in millimeters, micrometers, and nanometers. To resolve this, it is recommended to either decrease the mesh size or upgrade the computer's RAM. Addressing memory limitations is crucial for successful simulations in COMSOL. Efficient management of resources can enhance simulation performance and prevent similar errors.

Hi everyone,
I am doing a simulation using COMSOL 3.3a... I am using heat transfer module. I have 3 subdomains in my design with sizes in range mm, micrometre and nanometer...the third nanometre block appears just as a line...bt however i was able to give all boundary and subdomain details as i wanted...i did meshing and wen i proceeded with solving it says...
error 7147: out of memory in time dependent solver.

how can i get through with this error...please help me...

Thanks in advance.

When running on my PC that usually means that I ran out of RAM. The solution: decrease your mesh size or buy more RAM.

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
