Contact problem Analytical solution

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on performing vibration analysis of a cantilever beam in contact with Earth using ABAQUS, specifically seeking to match results with an analytical solution. The user is looking for references to papers or books that address the vibration problem described by the equation mx''+cx'+kx = F(t), which includes a friction term and a sinusoidal external load. There is a side conversation about whether the question resembles a homework assignment, leading to inquiries about deleting the thread. Overall, the main goal is to find resources for solving the vibration analysis problem.

Hi,

I am trying to do a vibration analysis of a cantilever beam in contact with Earth (in ABAQUS). Now I need to match these results with the analytiocal solution.

Could any of you guide me any paper or book where this klind of a problem is solved. So basically I am looking for the solution of the vibration problem with equation (with friction term):
mx''+cx'+kx = F(t)

where ' is the derivative with respect to time and F(t) is a sinusoidal external load applied on the cantilever end.

Thanks in advance.

comparing a flat solar panel of area 2π r² and a hemisphere of the same area, the hemispherical solar panel would only occupy the area π r² of while the flat panel would occupy an entire 2π r² of land. wouldn't the hemispherical version have the same area of panel exposed to the sun, occupy less land space and can therefore increase the number of panels one land can have fitted? this would increase the power output proportionally as well. when I searched it up I wasn't satisfied with...
