AI Thread Summary
Most international airports typically have translators or multilingual staff, especially at larger airports that handle significant passenger traffic. Airlines often employ staff who can communicate in various languages, and there are unofficial systems in place to request specific language assistance, such as contacting airline desks for help in languages like Russian. Immigration and police departments usually have official interpreters available, as accurate translation is crucial for legal proceedings. However, there are instances where translation services fail, leading to serious consequences, highlighting the importance of effective communication in these settings.

Do they have translators on most international airports? If there are, then I would like to know do they have translators for only those countries which are source of high traffic?

If you don't have working knowledge of English language, then do they consider you an illiterate or inferior?

Please help me. Thanks for your time.

Depends on the size of the airport. For a big international airport you are likely to have staff from airlines that speak pretty much any language.
Ussually you have an unofficial system where you call say the aeroflot desk if you need somebody to speak Russian - plus you have local interpreters on-call that you can hire in for specific problems.

Then immigration and police are going to have their own official interpreters on-call, this is a little more strict because you may need to be able to prove in court that they did a good job of translating

Sometimes it doesn't work - with tragic consequences - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Dziekański_Taser_incident
