AI Thread Summary
Drilling a PCB using two step motors controlled by a microcontroller involves programming the microcontroller to interpret coordinates from design files created in Eagle or OrCAD. Users seek guidance on how to integrate these design files with the microcontroller for accurate drilling. Resources and existing projects, such as a computer-controlled milling machine kit from "Elektor," are suggested for reference. Additionally, a specific university, Ateneo de Naga, is mentioned as having developed a similar project. Understanding the integration of software and hardware is crucial for successful PCB drilling.

Hello.

I need to know the mechanism of drilling my printed circuit board (PCB) with two step motors x,y using microcontroller.

How to use eagle or orcad to control two step motors to drill and how can the microcontroller accept the eagle file to locate the coordinates of the driller?

Thanks in advance!

You want to make your own x-y-z PCB drill machine? What resources do you have available?

A European magazine called "Elektor" did a kit for a computer controlled milling machine last year.

Hi.. someone has already made that idea of yours in reality.. it is computer based driller. if you are interested go to college of engineering Ateneo de Naga University...

While I was rolling out a shielded cable, a though came to my mind - what happens to the current flow in the cable if there came a short between the wire and the shield in both ends of the cable? For simplicity, lets assume a 1-wire copper wire wrapped in an aluminum shield. The wire and the shield has the same cross section area. There are insulating material between them, and in both ends there is a short between them. My first thought, the total resistance of the cable would be reduced...
Hey guys. I have a question related to electricity and alternating current. Say an alien fictional society developed electricity, and settled on a standard like 73V AC current at 46 Hz. How would appliances be designed, and what impact would the lower frequency and voltage have on transformers, wiring, TVs, computers, LEDs, motors, and heating, assuming the laws of physics and technology are the same as on Earth?
Hi all I have some confusion about piezoelectrical sensors combination. If i have three acoustic piezoelectrical sensors (with same receive sensitivity in dB ref V/1uPa) placed at specific distance, these sensors receive acoustic signal from a sound source placed at far field distance (Plane Wave) and from broadside. I receive output of these sensors through individual preamplifiers, add them through hardware like summer circuit adder or in software after digitization and in this way got an...
