AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the formation of a new government following recent elections, highlighting the tight race between the liberal VVD and the socialistic PVDA parties. With both parties polling closely at 41 and 39 seats respectively out of 150, there is concern that undecided voters may gravitate towards these two, sidelining other significant parties. The current Prime Minister is perceived to have been rewarded for his policies, indicating a potential coalition between the VVD and PVDA despite their fundamentally opposing views. The challenge of cooperation between these contrasting ideologies raises doubts about the effectiveness of such a coalition, suggesting that governance might be more productive if one party were to lead independently rather than attempting to reconcile their differences.

That's today since we have to get a new government.

It's going to be tight, the liberal VVD right against the socialistic PVDA at left and yes they say that there are mutually exclusive.

Because of the very close poll results it can be anticipated that confused, seeking and unsure voters go for either one of them, at the cost of half a dozen other important parties.

As I don't really support Robin Hoodism and I believe in balancing your checkbook I did not vote socialistic.

So the election is finished and we're counting. The last polls were 36 members both of 150. Current polls suggest 41 against 40

Crossing fingers

Liberal VVD 41 and socialistic PvdA 39 of 150 then a couple of parties on 15 and less.

It means that the current minister president was rewarded for his policies.

Essentially that seems to imply that the big two have to cooperate somehow and form a coalition. With virtually opposite opinions on all things, that's going to be tough. But that't the polder model.

I have a feeling it's a rather counter-productive situation to have two so different parties try to work together, as they'll just end up working against each others ideas. You would probably be better off with either of the two in charge by themselves, then at least something could change.
