AI Thread Summary
Chronic ear infections can lead to severe symptoms, including intense pain and swelling of the ear canal. If prescribed drops do not provide relief and symptoms worsen, it is crucial to contact the doctor for guidance. Patients are advised to seek immediate medical attention through urgent care or an emergency room if symptoms escalate, especially after hours. It's important to communicate any worsening conditions to the healthcare provider to ensure proper treatment.

Call the doctor and ask when you should start feeling some relief. If your ear feels worse, call the doctor and let them know, don't hesitate to go to an urgent care or emergency room if it is after hours if you feel it's necessary. Hopefully your doctor has an after hours answering service that can put you in touch with someone.
