Electrodynamics text study guide?

AI Thread Summary
A search for a concise electrodynamics study guide reveals a need for a book that combines brief theoretical explanations with solved exercises. While Jackson and Griffiths are acknowledged as excellent resources, they may not meet the specific requirements for simplicity and focus on vector calculus. Schey's "Div, Grad, Curl and All That" is recommended for its approachable style and challenging elementary problems with solutions. However, no other texts matching the desired characteristics have been identified. The discussion highlights a gap in available resources for students seeking a straightforward guide in electrodynamics.

There is a book with very briefly theory, showing the essentials for make the exercices of electrodynamics, and also with solved exercices?

Similar to Kubo of Statistical Mechanics (but of electrodynamics).

Jackson and Griffits are very good books, but i am looking for a book with the characteristics mentioned.

At a simpler level, and focusing on vector calculus with electromagnetism as the subject matter, is Schey's "Div, Grad, Curl and All That".

It has many challenging problems of an elementary type, with solutions.

I am familiar with Kubo, Griffiths, and Jackson, having used all of them in courses ... but have not seen anything like what you are looking for.

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
