Fire Modelling: An Overview of Knowledge and Techniques

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on fire modeling, specifically regarding pool fire modeling and the challenges associated with configuration factors (CFs). Participants express a need for introductory knowledge and clarification on the shape of pool fires, which is identified as a sheared or tilted cylinder. There is a focus on the importance of CFs in understanding radiation exchange between flames and target structures. Additionally, there is an inquiry about whether someone is seeking a particular solution or specific details related to the modeling approach. Overall, the conversation highlights the complexities of fire modeling and the need for foundational understanding in this area.

are you familiar with pool fire modelling?the shape is a sheared cylinder or a tilted cylinder. I am kinda stuck with the configuration factor part.

I've completely missed this thread ... sorry  !
If this has any relevance anymore, yeah, have worked with CFs for different types of flames & target structures for radiation exchange, are you looking for a particular solution or interested in some specific detail of the approach?
