Follow Researchers: Get Updates Without a ResearchGate Account

AI Thread Summary
To stay updated on research publications from specific individuals, using ResearchGate is a common approach, allowing users to subscribe to researchers even if they don't have accounts. However, updates may not be received for those without accounts. An alternative suggestion is to utilize arXiv, a preprint server where many physicists and researchers share their work prior to journal submission. This platform can provide timely access to new articles and research findings.

I want to follow some certain people who conduct the research I am interested in. I want to be up to date whenever they publish a new article. How can I follow these people?

So far for me the convenient way was the researchgate network. But some researches do not have an accounts there, however on researchgate it is possible to search for articles and even subscribe for people even if they don't have an account there. I can subscribe for such people without account, but I don't get any updates from them, is it possible to get updates from people without researchgate account on researchgate somehow?

Thank you.

You should look on the arXiv. It's a preprint server. That's where most physicists put their work before submitting to a journal.

I’ve been looking through the curricula of several European theoretical/mathematical physics MSc programs (ETH, Oxford, Cambridge, LMU, ENS Paris, etc), and I’m struck by how little emphasis they place on advanced fundamental courses. Nearly everything seems to be research-adjacent: string theory, quantum field theory, quantum optics, cosmology, soft matter physics, black hole radiation, etc. What I don’t see are the kinds of “second-pass fundamentals” I was hoping for, things like...
TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
