AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on the forces acting on a VO70 sailboat while sailing at 8 knots, specifically regarding the momentum generated and the role of the canting keel. The canting keel provides counteracting momentum to stabilize the boat in the water. The original poster seeks information on the ideal weight and angle of the canting keel for optimal performance at this speed. A reference to a solution provided by Dave Barry is mentioned, indicating that the problem has been addressed previously. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for effective sailboat design and performance.

Hello,

First of all I m sorry about my bad english.

Anyhow my question:

What kind of forces does react on a sailinboat, take as example a VO70 boat.
I need to know what kind of Momentum the VO70 makes if he sails with 8 knots. I can't find it on the internet.

The cantingkeel delivers a opposite momentum on the sailboat to stable the boat straight into the water. What i want to know is the perfect weight of the cantingkeel and angle on a 8 knots sailin boat

greetings the dutch guy

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
