Free Circuit Design Program Download | Multi-Sim Trial

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on finding free circuit design software alternatives to Multi-Sim, which is widely used in academic settings. Participants recommend WinSpice with PPRE as a fully free option, although it lacks a user-friendly GUI. Additionally, TINA circuit simulator is suggested as a viable trial software for smaller circuit designs. Users emphasize that most simulators available are trial versions, typically limited to handling circuits with fewer than 50 nodes.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with circuit design concepts
  • Basic understanding of simulation software
  • Knowledge of node limitations in circuit design
  • Experience with GUI vs. non-GUI software interfaces
NEXT STEPS
  • Research WinSpice with PPRE for free circuit simulation
  • Explore TINA circuit simulator for trial usage
  • Investigate other trial circuit design software options
  • Learn about node limitations in circuit simulation tools
USEFUL FOR

Students, hobbyists, and professionals in electrical engineering seeking affordable circuit design solutions and alternatives to Multi-Sim.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a free circuit design program that I could download. My university uses Multi-Sim which is an amazing program and it offers a free trial download but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other programs?

Thanks

Most simulators come in trial but they're all sufficient enough to handle less that 50 nodes.

A full free simulator would be WinSpice with PPRE - though this isn't GUI friendly (difficult to use if you havn't been introduced to it before).

Other trial software like TINA circuit simulator should be enough provided you're not designing very large complicated circuits with a full analysis...
