Grants for MSc on plasma physics

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around an individual with a pre-master's degree in plasma physics from Al-Azhar University in Egypt, seeking guidance on obtaining a grant or scholarship for a Master's degree, preferably in Europe or the USA. The individual emphasizes their excellent academic performance and expresses urgency in finding financial support. Responses clarify that scholarships for Master's programs may be limited, but pursuing a Ph.D. could offer tuition waivers and stipends through teaching or research assistantships. The importance of a Ph.D. in advancing a career in physics is highlighted, suggesting that those with only a Master's degree may face limitations in career opportunities. The individual seeks further information on how to apply for these types of scholarships.

well, it is my understanding that scholarships do not exist for master's programs, but if you go for the Ph.D generally tuition is waived and you're paid a stipend if you work as a TA or RA.

And, in physics, a Ph.D is rather necessary if you want to do anything more than lab technician work. If you want to run your own lab or something, a Ph.D is a must. Even people with master's degrees work as techs under some Ph.D.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
