AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the increased risk of lightning strikes in rural areas compared to cities. Participants note that cities have more tall structures equipped with lightning rods, which provide protection. In contrast, rural areas often lack such infrastructure, leaving individuals in open fields vulnerable to strikes. Reports of lightning-related fatalities are more common in the countryside due to this lack of protection. Overall, the consensus highlights the importance of infrastructure in mitigating lightning hazards.

Is it worse?

Can you show us a link that establishes that?

I think that's true. In my area, sometime there are reports of thunder deads and only from the countryside.
Probably because in the city, all high objects are protected by lightning rods so people in the street are safe, people are too small compared to buildings and the like. There are not many large pieces of land in the city, but in the countryside there are a lot. If you are standing in the field and the charged cloud above, you are unprotected.

Thread 'Motional EMF in Faraday disc, co-rotating magnet axial mean flux'
So here is the motional EMF formula. Now I understand the standard Faraday paradox that an axis symmetric field source (like a speaker motor ring magnet) has a magnetic field that is frame invariant under rotation around axis of symmetry. The field is static whether you rotate the magnet or not. So far so good. What puzzles me is this , there is a term average magnetic flux or "azimuthal mean" , this term describes the average magnetic field through the area swept by the rotating Faraday...
