Heat Transfer Investigation

The lack of a graph may make it more challenging, but you can still present the data in a clear and organized manner. In summary, a practical investigation was conducted to examine the impact of different insulator materials on the heating of buildings. A model house was used with a heat probe inside to measure the inside temperature. The experiment was run for 20 minutes with a 100 watt heat source on top of the roof. The known data for each experiment included the initial and final temperatures, the heat source, the area inside the model house, and the mass of each insulator used. The report should discuss the methodology, results, and conclusions drawn from the data. It may be more challenging without a graph, but comparisons and calculations can still be

hi,

We had to do a prac. last week to investigate the effect of insulator materials on the heating of buildings.

we did the prac, but unfortunately we didn't save our graph which shows the change in temperature with respect to time, for each of the different insulator.

we had a model house, with a heat probe inside to measure the inside temperature, the insulator were put inside he roof. and a 100 watts heat source was put directly on top of the roof. we ran each of the experiment for 20 minutes.

So now i need help in writing the prac. report. How do i show the effect of different insulator on heating of building, from the result i have.

these are the known data for each of the experiments with different insulator;

Initial temperature (temperature inside the house before heating)

Final temperature (temperature inside the house after heating)

100 watt, heat source

all experiment ran for 20 minutes.

the area inside the model house.

the mass of each of the insulator used...

..................

so i need help with writing up this report. we don't necessarily need to use any formula's. we just need to show the effect of different insulator material.

if we had a graph it would've been easy to just refer to the graph.(but we don't have any graph)

Thank you for your help.To write the report, start by introducing the purpose of the experiment and the materials used. Then, you can explain the methodology and discuss the results. For example, you could compare the initial temperature and final temperature for each of the insulators used, and compare the rate of increase in temperature. You could also calculate the percentage change in the temperature to compare the effectiveness of the different insulators. Finally, you can draw conclusions and make recommendations based on the results.

1. What is heat transfer investigation?

Heat transfer investigation is a scientific process that involves studying the movement of thermal energy from one object to another. It can also involve examining the factors that affect heat transfer, such as temperature, surface area, and material properties.

2. Why is heat transfer investigation important?

Heat transfer investigation is important because it helps us understand how heat moves and how it can be controlled. This knowledge is crucial in various industries, such as energy production, materials processing, and environmental science.

3. What are the different types of heat transfer?

There are three types of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact between two objects. Convection is the transfer of heat through the movement of fluids, such as air or water. Radiation is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves.

4. How can we measure heat transfer?

Heat transfer can be measured using various methods, including thermometers, calorimeters, and heat flux sensors. These devices measure the change in temperature or the amount of heat transferred between two objects.

5. What are some real-world applications of heat transfer investigation?

Heat transfer investigation has many practical applications. It is used in designing efficient heating and cooling systems, improving energy efficiency in buildings, and developing new materials for thermal insulation. It is also essential in understanding the Earth's climate and predicting weather patterns.
