How Can a New Undergrad in Physics Make Friends and Engage in Research Online?

I'm new here, looking forward to make new friends
This is my first post!
I just finished my high school and now I'm going to join an undergrad physics program
I have interest in research and I've even read the article written by a PF member about being a scientist it answered most of my questions and looking by the amount of geniuses present I joined PF

It's a nice compliment of course, but you shouldn't confuse genius with hard work. You don't need to be a genius to be a successful physicist. You mostly need to work very hard and have some luck. So I wouldn't say most scientists really are geniuses. But then again, there's this guy:

"Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman" is non technical. You should read it, no need to wait..

QED is, even though not a textbook, a bit technical.. It's self contained tho, AFAIK.

It's just that I have too much to read and all is non technical
My older cousin gave me some relativity book,, all the tensor analysis is above my head, It's more of a reference i guess, I wonder why he gave me. FYI its by an author called Wald. Its a big fat book.

I have holidays going on, so one of my physics professor gave me vector calculus book. That grad, div, curl, laplacian was mind blowing. My college course will cover all but I have no patience to wait for 2 years just to know what partial differentiation is
Then again my stuck between set theory or differential equation. But I think I'll find a thread. Almost all my questions are already answered in here.I would've asked for tips but even those can be found in here.

Yes I noticed, rules are very fair and enough amount of formality is maintained while answering, conversely good and informal topics in GD are worth taking a look.
