How can I copy my the entire harddrive image from my IBM Thinkpad T40 to another IBM Thinkpad R52? Since there is dissimilar hardware a simple backup/restore will not work. I have read about a few products that can do this. I am just trying to find the easiest way to make this happen.

I browsed through the links that you have given. I don't think i can perform a backup/restore with linux for I have never used that style OS or programming. Thank you though.
