AI Thread Summary
To delete an account on Physics Forums, users must send a private message to an admin, as accounts are not deleted upon request to maintain thread integrity. While posts cannot be deleted, accounts can be banned, effectively closing them. Users are encouraged to contact a mentor or respond in the forum if they wish to proceed with a ban. Alternatively, simply ceasing to post is an option, as the forum does not pursue inactive members. The process emphasizes maintaining the continuity of discussions.

We don't delete accounts on request, since deleting posts would make many threads meaningless. We can, however, ban you, which will result in your account being closed. Either PM a mentor, or post back here, if you want us to do that.

Or you can simply stop posting. We won't come chasing after you, begging you to come back.
