How Does a Small Solar Cell Achieve High Amperage?

AI Thread Summary
Small solar cells can achieve high amperage ratings, such as 1000mA to 2000mA, by utilizing internal supercapacitors that store energy. These capacitors charge slowly from the solar cell and then discharge quickly to provide a high current output when needed. The design allows for efficient energy transfer, enabling devices like solar chargers to deliver significant power despite their compact size. This method effectively bridges the gap between low solar cell output and high device demand. Understanding this technology can clarify how small solar chargers function effectively.

dear experts

i saw a solar charger the size of an iphone that has high amperage rating of over 1000mA to 2000mA.

Based on the solar cell size i estimate it to produce at most 250mA at around 5 volts.

I like to know how the high amperageis derived.

is it using super capacitors ?
if so , is it charging up the sc and them discharging to battery at high amperage like 1000mA?

Thanks for reading.

best regards

It may be slowly charging some cells inside its box. You can quickly charge your phone battery by connecting to these cells.

Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
Hello dear reader, a brief introduction: Some 4 years ago someone started developing health related issues, apparently due to exposure to RF & ELF related frequencies and/or fields (Magnetic). This is currently becoming known as EHS. (Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed.) She experiences a deep burning sensation throughout her entire body, leaving her in pain and exhausted after a pulse has occurred...
