I am stuck on this homework question and would apprieciate a bit of help please.

Put the following sentences in the correct order to explain how the bell works.

*The springy metal pulls back the hammer

*A current flows through the electromagnet

*At the same time, the circuit is broken at point C

*Tom presses the bell push

*The electromagnet attracts the iron armature

*At C, the circuit is complete again

*The hammer strikes the gong

This is what I thought...

1. Tom presses the bell push.
2. At the same time, the circuit at point C is broken.
3. A current flows through the electromagnet.
4. The electromagnet attracts the iron armature.
5. At C, the circuit is complete again.
6. The springy metal pulls the hammer back.
7. The hammer strikes the gong.
 
Just imagine, if you break a part of the conducting wire in a circuit, then the current does not flow. But, if you complete the circuit by fixing the broken part, then current flows.

So you mixed up a few steps.
