How Many Star Wars Senators Can You Recall?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around participants sharing their ability to name current and former U.S. senators, with some expressing a lack of interest in politics and a focus on personal preferences, such as being a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs over hockey teams like the Calgary Flames. Several users mention the names of senators who have run for president, including Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Lindsey Graham, while others express indifference towards the relevance of knowing senators' names. The conversation also touches on the distinction between current and former senators, with a note that Hillary Clinton has not been a senator since 2009. Overall, the thread reflects a mix of political knowledge, personal interests, and a casual attitude towards the topic.

I can do twelve.

Four and a candidate this year.

The two from my state, plus a handful of others which may or may not still be in the senate. I don't pay much attention these days.

I can probably name a few of the historic ones, but I haven't really followed hockey in recent years.

I was always more of a Leafs fan anyway.

I was going to ask which country, since Canada and Mexico have a Senate, and others as well.

I can readily name 24, maybe 25, US senators, and some former ones. Three republican and one independent/democratic Senators have been candidates for president this year.

Checking on http://www.sporcle.com/games/g/senateus# I could name 22 US senators. Missed some obvious ones (Ted Cruz, Rand Paul), however.

I count four in the GOP: Cruz, Rubio, Paul, & Graham.

Waste of brain space. Who cares? I don't think that knowledge would come in handy even at a cocktail party. I think the only value of knowing the names of US senators starts and stops right here in this thread :oldtongue:

The only one I could think of was Rubio, but I think he's not even in the Senate anymore. Barbara Boxer?

Two of the four I know plus an Illinois candidate (2016) crashed my email account although I cannot elect them ... And the worst thing is, even if I could I won't.

Yeah, I had forgotten he was in at the beginning. He placed in Iowa, but that was about it. He dropped out of the race two days after the Iowa caucuses.

She's hasn't been a senator since 2009. Ex-senators don't count.

Not a Calgary Flames fan? I thought you were from Calgary, based on your posts.
